📘 B1 State Exam Preparation
📘 B1 State Exam Prep
Work toward the official Polish B1 exam over a full academic year (October 2026 - June 2027) - grammar, writing, speaking, and a full mock exam, with your teacher.
This course is for you if you've finished A2 or you're just starting B1, and you want a clear path to the state exam - not just general conversation practice.
Knowing Polish isn't the same as passing the exam
You need the B1 certificate for your documents, work, or studies in Poland? 📄
The exam has its own structure, task types, and scoring rules - separate from just "speaking Polish well."
Worried about paying exam fees more than once? 💸
Retaking the exam costs time and money. Preparing properly the first time is worth it.
Not sure what the examiners are actually looking for? 🎯
Your teacher builds the exam's structure and requirements into your B1 curriculum from the start, not tacked on at the end.
You don't need to already speak Polish at an advanced level to start. Over a full academic year, you'll work through the B1 curriculum with the exam requirements built in from day one - so when you're ready to register, you're ready to pass.
Who This Course Is For
This course is a good fit if:
you've finished the A2 course (or you're almost done with it)
you've started B1 and want to review the material with the exam in mind
you know your present, past, and future tenses, verb aspect, and the narzędnik, biernik, dopełniacz, and miejscownik cases
you need the B1 certificate for documents, work, or studies in Poland
you want a full academic year to prepare properly, rather than cramming close to the exam
You'll learn celownik and wołacz as part of the course - you don't need to know them going in.

💻 4. Meet twice a week on Zoom
Semester 1 runs September 28th to February 2027. If you sign up for two semesters, Semester 2 follows straight after, running February to June/July 2027. Small groups mean real speaking time, not just listening.
✍️ 5. Build toward the exam step by step
Grammar, writing, and speaking, all built around the real exam requirements, with regular writing feedback and speaking practice every week.
What You'll Work On
Grammar
You'll review the tenses, aspect, and cases you already know, and add what's still missing for B1 - celownik and wołacz - with a focus on using them correctly, not just recognizing them.
Writing
You'll practice both short and long forms, with feedback on every text:
Short forms: invitation, announcement, greetings, wishes
Long forms: report, story, review, essay, characterization
Speaking
You'll practice the exact task types used in the exam:
describing a situation in a photo
a monologue on a given topic
a dialogue with the examiner
Mock exam
Toward the end of the year, you'll take a full mock exam covering all four parts - listening, reading, writing, and speaking - so exam day feels familiar, not overwhelming.

Meet Your Teachers
Natalia Machura
Natalia has over 10 years of experience teaching Polish, English, and Ukrainian. She has prepared many learners for the B1 exam and also takes part in official exam sessions, so she knows precisely what the examiners look for and what mistakes students make most often. She holds a Ph.D. in teaching Polish as a foreign language and previously trained teachers at the University of Silesia. Her two big loves? Languages and Polish food.
Agata Rudzińska
Agata has been teaching Polish to foreigners for nearly 15 years and has guided many students through successful B1 exam preparation. She knows exactly which grammar areas cause the biggest problems and how to explain them in a clear, calm way. She previously spent two years teaching in Kazakhstan and now teaches with the help of two cats who love joining her classes. Agata is deeply curious about all cultures – not just Polish.

We start with more English, especially at A0, then shift into Polish as soon as you're ready for it. Your teacher will always be able to support you in English when it genuinely helps, but the goal is to teach as much as possible in Polish, when you don’t need English anymore.
